SMA Security Management and Associates is a registered corporate entity that meets the definition of a qualified service provider set out in the published Alberta Security Infrastructure Program (ASIP) guidelines.
All assessments are supervised by the lead consultant, who holds the National Institute of Crime Prevention Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Professional designation. This credential is listed in the published ASIP guidelines as an acceptable professional credential for qualified service providers.
Assessment methods draw on CPTED principles and established risk management practices consistent with ISO 31000. This helps ensure assessments meet accepted professional standards while remaining practical and proportionate to the facility being reviewed.
What the Security Risk Assessment Covers
The security risk assessment is a structured and site specific evaluation of security risks relevant to the facility and its use. The assessment considers risks associated with hate or bias motivated incidents within the broader context of overall facility security.
The assessment process includes identification of people, assets, and operations at risk, review of relevant threat sources, and analysis of physical and procedural vulnerabilities.
Likelihood and potential consequences are evaluated to support prioritization of security risks. Mitigation options are identified and documented to provide a clear and defensible basis for future security planning and grant applications.
How the Process Works
